Information we collect, and why

We do not ask for more than we need, and we do not buy personal information from anyone else.

Students under 18

Most of our students are children. We treat their information with particular care.

• We ask a parent or guardian to provide and confirm a student's details, not the student.
• We do not send marketing to children.
• We only record what we need in order to teach and to enter examinations — we do not keep notes about a child beyond their academic progress.
• A parent or guardian can ask to see everything we hold about their child at any time.

Some of our students are adults resitting qualifications. Where the student is 18 or over, we deal with them directly.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do share it with the following, because we could not run the service otherwise.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where there is a safeguarding concern about a child. We would not need consent to do that, and in a safeguarding case we may not be able to tell you first.

Where your information is held

Our records are held in Google's services. Google may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards Google puts in place for its business customers, such as the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

The student and parent portal

Families can see lessons covered, homework set and progress at rightchoicetuition.co.uk/login using an access code we give you.

• The code gives access to one student's record and nothing else.
• The portal never shows fees, payment status, phone numbers, email addresses or our internal notes.
• Treat the code like a key — anyone who has it can see that student's page, so please do not post it in a group chat.
• If you lose it, or think someone else has it, tell us and we will issue a new one. The old code stops working immediately.
• Access ends automatically when a student leaves us.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it, and the Meta pixel to measure our advertising. Both set cookies in your browser and are not necessary for the site to work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you using this website or the portal.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the information we hold about you or your child
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep
• stop or limit how we use it
• object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests
• send it to you or another provider in a portable format

Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, particularly where the request concerns a child.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change is significant we will tell families directly.
